The following processes and equipment are available:

  • Polymer syntheses on a scale of 50 – 5000 ml per batch: chain growth polymerizations (free radical, controlled radical, ring-opening, ionic, transition metal catalyzed) in solution, melt, emulsion, suspension, as well as special processes (“living” polymerizations)
  • Step growth polymerizations (polysulfones, polyether ketones, polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates, polyurethanes, etc.) in solution and melt
  • Polymer-analogous conversions, polymer functionalizations
  • Monomer syntheses
  • Film production from solution in a “laminar flow box” with an automatic doctor blade
  • Thermoplastic extrusion with a mini extruder on the lab scale (approx. 0.5 kg / h), production of pellets
  • Analytical methods: spectroscopy (FT-IR, UV / Vis), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), solution viscometry and nuclear magnetic resonance NMR spectroscopy
